The most obvious example of this is the Mercedes-Benz factory. When the last 3 years of data of the Automotive Industry Association (OSD) are examined; In 2021, 21,907 of the total 34,652 trucks in Turkey were produced in the Mercedes-Benz Aksaray factory. The company's total truck production capacity in 2022 is 22,300. Mercedes Benz Türk A.Ş. has produced more than 300,000 trucks of various tonnages in Aksaray since 1986, and has invested a total of over 1.3 billion euros in Aksaray since its establishment. The establishment of Mercedes Benz Türk A.Ş. in Aksaray created a multiplier effect in attracting its suppliers to Aksaray, and a potential cluster was formed in the automotive industry in Aksaray.
Brisa (Bridgstone&Sabancı joint venture), which has an important place in the automotive sub-industry, decided to invest in Aksaray Organized Industrial Zone in 2013, and the investor company was allocated 1,000 decares of land for an investment of 300 million dollars. The company has completed over 90% of its investment and employs approximately 500 people. With the completion of the investment, employment figures are expected to reach 700.
SÜTAŞ A.Ş., operating in Aksaray province; It consists of a training center, practice farm, breeding farms, feed factory, dairy factory, recycling and energy facilities. The investment, which started with 2.7 million TL in 2006 by the SÜTAŞ group, has increased over the years and made significant contributions to the TR71 region economy. As of 2020, it employs approximately 1700 people directly and indirectly approximately 20,000 people.
The clothing company affiliated with Eroğlu Group of Companies, which has worldwide brands such as Loft and Colin's and produces products of important international companies, made a significant investment in Aksaray Merkez OSB in 2004. While the investment in Aksaray played a leading role in the further growth of the company, its contribution to employment made a lot of noise. The company, which had approximately 450 personnel in 2004, increased the number of employment to approximately 2,000 by 2022. Due to the attractiveness in the sector and the appetizing feature of the newly established district OIZs in Aksaray districts regarding incentives and investments, Eroğlu Giyim is also planning to establish a new factory in Sultanhanı OIZ on an area of 30,000 m2. It is anticipated that approximately 1,000 people will be employed with the new investment.
In 2021, 530 decares of land were allocated in Aksaray OIZ to LC Waikiki, one of the leading companies in the textile industry. The company will establish its logistics center in Aksaray and will also manufacture some of its products in apparel. The total fixed investment amount of the investment is 3.65 billion TL and it is expected to provide additional employment for 4,500 people. In the investment that will be completed in stages, the first stage of the investment has been completed as of 2022 and an announcement has been made for employment of approximately 1,000 people.
Being in a central location in the middle of Central Anatolia, having a young, dynamic and entrepreneurial university and having a high-quality workforce contribute greatly to Aksaray's motor vehicle main and sub-industry being a priority sector. In this context, 7.3 million TL support was provided by Ahiler Development Agency to a total of 14 projects in the automotive sub-industry sector between 2011-2022, and an investment volume of 18.6 million TL was created with the co-financing of investors.
